Phase 4 Highlights

-On the algae fields of Nolim, a Dark Angel scouting force is investigating a Necron power signature when they are ambushed by the Bloodied Desert Cabal. A dark angel orbiting strike cruiser is able to reposition to support with Deathwing reinforcements. The Dark Angel forces are able to temporarily secure and analyze the power source before being driven off by the Dark Eldar raiders who seemed disinterested by the Necron technology.

-The now uncontested Necron power source was soon claimed by a Tau strike force. As the Tau prepared the tech for transport, Ultramarines who had calculated their arrival to be too late to effectively contest the tech, instead set up for an ambush for the Tau extraction. The Ultramarine ambush was textbook-perfect; seizing the initiative on the Tau and punishing them with alpha strikes.

-Remaining Ultramarine forces worked with Space Wolves to cement the defense of Feon from the Necrons. Ares Wyrmbane commanded his Grey Hunters and Long Fangs in the defense of the walls as Ultramarine Terminator squads advanced to take the fight to the Necron ground elements that began emerging from the tunnels. When the air defenses were in peril Librarian Callimus moved to hold the metal tide. His heroic sacrifice allowed the quad gun to continue to fire and the Necrons were annihilated. 

-Vulkan’s Reach continued to engage in successful drop assaults against Tau fortifications inside of traitor hive cities. Civilian causalities remain high but the Tau were driven from the Cerex hive city.

-The Eldar manipulated the Dark Eldar into attacking a Dark Angel-held Dolmen gate on Nolim. The battle was bloody forcing both sides to fall back. The Eldar had foreseen this outcome and then moved in to secure the area while the Dark Angels were still recovering. The remaining forces were able to hold out until Ravenwing black knights were able to arrive and force another stalemate. After that battle the Eldar pulled back and the ravenwing advanced in pursuit. Dark Eldar remnants choose this time to exact their revenge on the tactical squads left to guard the gate. The battle claims the majority of the defenders but a lone sergeant holds the objective until reinforcements arrive.
